[ROB LYON]
Rob Lyon is a freelance adventure journalist who enjoys working within his diverse bioregion, dividing his time between the wilderness seacoast of British Columbia, the high deserts of the Pacific Northwest, and the lakes and streams of the North Cascade Mountains. He lives off-grid with his artist wife, Pamela, in Washington state’s San Juan Islands. As with so many outdoor writers, writing came after the fact for Rob. He first hired on as a guide on Oregon’s Deschutes River then eventually began writing about the sport he loved. Along the way, he discovered that he enjoyed reflecting upon and sharing his adventures nearly as much as the adventures themselves.
[BRIDGET MORAN]
Bridget Moran grew up squid fishing in Washington state’s Puget Sound with her dad on cold, wet school nights. After nearly three decades in western Washington, she remains an avid angler and conservationist. Moran works for American Rivers, focusing on hydropower reform and river protection in the Pacific Northwest. She is also the president of North Sound Trout Unlimited. In addition to The Flyfish Journal, her writing has appeared in Outside, DUN Magazine, and Moldy Chum. When her head isn’t buried in conservation projects, Bridget lets loose in rivers with rods and in the mountains on bikes and skis.
[SEAN PLATT]
Sean Platt is a freelance writer and photographer based in New York’s Adirondack Mountains. His obsession with fishing has been marked by many pitfalls including a stint of guiding, an embarrassing affair with Euro nymphing (it’s over now) and most recently an attempt to be a snobby, first reformed, carp angler. His work has been featured by The Nature Conservancy, Patagonia and Fly Culture, among other outlets. Chances are you can find him wherever carp have been reported, often empty handed and questioning his life choices.
[Dylan Rose]
Dylan Rose is the Saltwater Destinations Manager for the Ashland, OR-based Fly Water Travel, LLC. He’s spent the past 12 years exploring the world’s best saltwater flyfishing locations with camera in hand. His travels have taken him to destinations across the Caribbean, Christmas Island, Venezuela, Africa, Central America, Alaska and the American West. Rose is also a passionate family man and graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. His drive and dedication to flyfishing revolve around a deep-seated love for the outdoors and a desire to help protect wild places and the fish that inhabit them.
[ANDREW THOMPSON]
Andrew Thompson is an artist born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. His works of fish and wildlife draw from multiple disciplines including painting, woodworking, bookbinding and design, and are included in prominent private collections throughout the country. Thompson has also worked as an art dealer and a scholar of 19th- and 20th-century American art and is the co-author of the Thomas Hart Benton Catalogue Raisonné. He lives and works in Brooklyn and the Adirondacks, where he pokes around tiny streams for brookies and chases lake trout and salmon on the fly on northern Lake George.
