[01 Russ Schnitzer ]
Russ Schnitzer is a photographer and conservation professional who has worked for organizations like Trout Unlimited and the Nature Conservancy since 2000. In 2001, he acquired his first camera and, along with a case of film, set about teaching himself photography frame by frame. Sixteen years later, Russ’ diverse body of work reflects his varied interests and short attention span, covering everything from portraiture to street photography to documentary projects. A longtime contributor to The Flyfish Journal, Russ loves wild steelhead and German optics and is still passionate about analog photography. He is based in Denver, along with his wife and 3-year-old son.
[02 Ryan Sparks ]
Ryan Sparks grew up on a farm in Nebraska’s Platte River Valley fishing local ponds for anything he could catch. After his undergraduate years, he moved to Bozeman, MT, where he completed his M.A. in environmental history. He currently lives with his wife, Jillian, and their pointer, Tippet, on the banks of the St. Lawrence River near Kingston, ON. [03 Brett Tallman ]
Brett Tallman is a freelance writer and the editor of Native Fish Society’s biannual magazine, Strong Runs. Born and raised in Olympia, WA, he now lives in an 800-square-foot cottage in Newberg, OR, with a redhead, two toddlers and a golden retriever named Tug. Most of his free time is spent wandering his own Curtis Creek—a Coast Range cutthroat and steelhead stream—with an old bamboo rod in hand.
[04 Chris Adamo ]
Chris Adamo was the chief of staff at the White House Council on Environmental Quality in the Obama administration where he helped bring land, water and wildlife to the forefront of the climate change discussion. From tasks such as negotiating international boundary water agreements to combating pirate fishing, Chris daydreamed about his work leading to healthier lands and waters for people to enjoy. He grew up outside of Detroit along the shores of Lake St. Clair before leaving to travel, fish and eventually earn a law degree. While currently residing in Washington, D.C., he still makes the drive back to Michigan as often as possible with his fish-wise dog, Leland.
[05 Jonathan Finch ]
Jonathan Finch was born and raised in Missoula, MT. After dropping out of college—twice—he attended the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. Since graduating, he has lived a life of chasing light. He uses climbing, skiing, mountain biking and flyfishing as mediums to experience the world, and through his photography, hopes to inspire others. Jonathan has previously worked with Patagonia, Mountain Equipment and National Geographic Travel Online. He is a Winston Rods Pro Photographer.
